Steve Vernon regained the UKA Uphill Mountain title on Sunday at the European Trial race held in Keswick over a 12km course with over three thousand feet of climbing.

The runners climbed from Latrigg over Jenkin Hill, Little Man and up to the final summit of Skiddaw.

Steve had opened up a gap of 37 seconds by the finish in 55-03 ahead of marathon international Andy Jones of Salford in 55-40 and third placed runner Nick Swinburne 56-49.

Steve will travel to Bursa, Turkey to lead the UKA team at the European Championships on July 9th.

Trafford Grand Prix

Two more club records fell at Tuesday's Trafford Grand Prix, Elle Baker lowered the senior women's 3,000 metre record to 9-19.93 and Chelsea Jarvis shaved a few tenths off her own 800 metre record in 2-10.06.
