Club coach Maureen Wilkins has given us an update on the four young students with learning disabilities who make up the Seashell Gladiators team. All four have now successfully completed a triathlon and raised over £400 for Stockport Wheelchair Athletes and The Seashell Trust.

“We are all so proud of the achievements of these young athletes,” says Maureen. “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored them. It was a momentous occasion for family and friends cheering them on. We wish them all the best in the future and hope they continue to reach their goals and aspirations.

Ainsley worked hard on the triathlon and achieved a personal best. Alex enjoyed his experience and completed the full event after a short delay on T1 and getting on his bike in wet trunks. David competed for the second year and thoroughly enjoyed it again. Steven competed for first time in a competition, and he embraced his success clapping and smiling from ear to ear.”
