Trafford Medal Meeting Report

There was an impressive clean sweep of the Medals from the under-15 girls Bethan Murray, Katie Waterworth and Emily Jarad.

There were some excellent results for Stockport Harriers at yesterday’s Trafford Medal Meeting at Longford Park Athletics Stadium.

There was an impressive clean sweep of the Medals from the Stockport Under 15 Girls in the Long Jump with the Gold medal going to Emily Jarad (Joe Frost) with a jump of 4.95m, Silver to Bethan Murray (Joe Frost) with 4.91m and Bronze to Katie Waterworth (Joe Frost) with 4.74m. Bethan Murray ran impressively to take Gold in the 300m with a new personal best of 43.26 seconds - two seconds clear of the field – while Katie Waterworth took two further bronze medals with 13.24 in the 100m and 27.42 in the 200m. Emily Jarad ran 14.18 for fourth in the 100m while Eve Gibbons (Andy Owen) ran a personal best of 2:32.56 for sixth place in the Under 15 Girls 800m. Matthew Connor (Andrew Mihrainian) ran an impressive 13.64 seconds in the Under 15 Boys Hurdles to take the Gold Medal in his first race at the distance, as well as bronze in the Long Jump with 4.52m and a fourth in the Shot with 7.97m.

Jack Doodson (David Jackson) went home with a full set of medals that included Gold from the Long Jump with a best of 3.69m, Silver in the 150m with a new lifetime best of 24.36 seconds and bronze in the 75m in 12.09 seconds. In the same age group Tom O’Brien (Dina O’Brien) won 600m Gold with 1:58.98 and finished seventh in the 75m. Frank Culmer (Andrew Mihranian) won a silver medal in the Long Jump with a best jump of 3.44m and was fourth in the 75m with 12.32 seconds.

In the Under 13’s Evie Wild (Andy Owen) finished fifth in the 800m with a run of 2:39.03. Lauren Burgess (Andrew Mihrainian) was 12th in the 75m Hurdles in 16.49 and 11th in the 1200m in a personal best 4:49.14. Lauren was also 15th in the Long Jump with a best jump of 3.53m. Will Culmer won Bronze in the Under 13’s Javelin with 17.35m, was seventh in the Long Jump with 3.30m and 11th in the 100m with 15.76 seconds.
