Jess wins selection for England

Stockport's top performer Jess Coulson won selection to the England Schools' Cross Country team after finishing 7th at the English Schools Championships on Saturday at Norwich.

The top eight runners will represent England at this years home international at Mold in Wales on the 2nd April.

Jess will be part of a strong England team that will include Emily Pidgeon, the amazing 15-year-old who will be running at this year's World Cross Country Championships in the under-20 women's race.

Other Stockport Harriers who also ran well representing the Greater Manchester County Team were juniors girls Lucy McLoughlin 17th, Leah Kay 26th, Bryony pearce 40th and Michelle Wiblin 61st. The girls were in the winning team from Greater Manchester.

In the senior girls' Claire McMurdock finshed 68th and Carley Davies 157th.

Steve Pearson came home 50th in the inter boys' race while Ben Styles fininshed 117th in the senior boys' and Steve Barber 160th in the junior boys'.
