Ross Millington World qualifying mark

Ross Millington stormed to a new personal best and World indoor qualifying time of 7-49.11 at the Huskey Classic in Washington at the weekend in the fastest ever NCAA collegiate 3,000 metres with over 12 athletes dipping under the 8 minute barrier.

The race was won by North Carolinas Ryan Hill in 7-43 followed by Northern Arizonas Diego Estrada in 7-44 and Ross in 7-49.11 slicing 5 seconds off his club record.

Elle Baker bronze medal at UK Indoor Championships

Elle Baker finished third at the UK indoor 3,000 metres Championships at Sheffield in a close run race with World 1,500 metre silver medalist Hannah England holding off Bedford AC international Katrina Wooton for second and Elle in third in a new best of and club record of 9-09.43.

Elle will race the distance again at the Aviva Games this coming Saturday at Birmingham.

Pat Martin 5th in England debut

Pat Martin was back on the cross again after his run at the European Clubs in Spain, he didn't have much time to acclimatise for the snowy course that awaited him for his England cross debut in Belguim.

Despite the snowy conditions Pat put in a great performance to finish second counter for the England team and also took the scalp of European Cross Champion Atelaw Bekele who finished in ninth place.

1-2 for Stockport at Manchester League

Under-20 junior athlete Jack Morris won his first senior men's Manchester League race at Clayton Vale on Saturday in 32.12 closely followed by James Scott-Buccleuch in 32.43

Chelsea to race in Olympic Stadium

Chelsea Jarvis will have the honour of running an invitation 800 metres race in the Olympic Stadium on May 9th. Chelsea will be representing the North West team in the UK School Games at the stadium.
