Great results last week for the Stockport Harriers' wheelchair racing squad Ant Booth, Ant Gotts, Kirsty Grange, Dan Bramall and Stuart Bloor who all competed at 2 major competitions in the South of England.
The first competition on 6 May was the BWRA Championships held at Stoke Mandeville which is the home of the Paralympic Games in Aylesbury,' Bucks.
There were 19 races for the squad of which 17 produced personal best performances. The afternoon was rounded off with Stuart and the two Ants joining Will Smith in a 4 x 400m relay against World Championship silver medalists the Canadian national team where they finished in a time of 3.53.51, not a bad time for their first outing in this event.
On Tuesday 8th May Kirsty, Stuart, Ant Booth and Ant Gotts were taking part in a test event at the New Olympic Stadium in London.
Kirsty competed in the 100m against a tough international field and came home in a personal best of 20.81.
Stuart competed in the 100m with a season's best of 16.80, he later took part in a 1,500m race that was dominated by Dave Wier in the world's fastest time this year, Stuart finished 5th in 3.36.26.
Anthony Booth and Anthony Gotts joined Stuart who were joined by Jamie Carter in another 4 x 400 relay and finished second again behind GB1 team in a time of 4.01.73.
A great week by all the squad who will be taking part in the Manchester 10k on Sunday 20th May.
