Greater Manchester Cross Country League

The junior section travelled over to St Helens for the second of the Manchester Cross Country League at Sherdley Park.

With a lot of school races taking place on the same day a number of athletes where missing but the group of athletes who did turn out for the club did themselves proud with taking three 1st team places and one individual win in the under-15 girls race.

The first race the under-11 boys showed how strong they are taking 1st team with Ben Batho 2nd, Fabio Corosi 3rd and Lucas Parker who had run a school race in the morning 5th.

The under-13 girls took 5th team with Natasha Harrison 10th, Georgia Bourke 11th and Emma Flynn 20th, followed by Heather Corden 28th, Fracesca Corosi 31st, Grace Garner 41st and Jess Connors.

The race of the day came in the under-15 girls where Katy Whiteoak had a great race to take 1st place winning by 24 seconds followed by Juliet Downs 7th, Chloe Lockett 10th and Lily Mc Guinness 11th to take 1st team.

The under-17 girls showed how strong they are with a number of athletes missing they took 1st team with a showing of Elizabeth Apsley 2nd, then Ellen Downs 3rd and Rosa Chrystie Lowe 4th followed by Sophie Williams in 10th place.
