Stockport Harriers Schools Cross-Country League 2014-15

Report: John Wharf -

Report of Presentation Event – 28 March 2015

After a season of racing with little rain, the heavens opened and gave us a 3-hour downpour, which led to some fine slides in the finish funnel. Fortunately, the rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of the children and their supporters and we had a fine turn out. While the racing might have been wet, the rain ceased just before the presentation ceremony, even though the clouds continued to scud past, which made it a lot more plasant for all of us.

The results of the 4 fun races were as follows:

Race 1st team 2nd team 3rd team 4th team
Girls 3-4 Orange Green Yellow Red
Boys 3-4 Green  Yellow Red Orange
Girls 5-6 Yellow Green Red Orange
Boys 5-6 Yellow Green Red Orange

Well done to all you for your good team racing.

Endeavour Medals

190 children earned an Endeavour medal for participating in at least 5 of the 6 League events. Our records show that we handed out medals to 131 of the children either individually or to somebody collecting the medals on their behalf. Those of you who have not got your medal, you can either collect it at Woodbank stadium on Tuesday or Thursday evening, or contact me through your team manager or family member to sort out how best to get it in your hands. We have also two League certificates that were unissued: for Libby Robinson and Tom Morton.

Finally, we hope that you enjoyed your season of racing and that those of you not moving on to secondary school will be back again in the autumn for another good season of racing.
