Due to a lack of interest the Club Committee has agreed to withdraw from the Northern Senior Track and Field League for the 2017 season.
There has been little interest generated amongst our Seniors for this Competition in recent years, and the Club is currently unable to fulfil the expectations that are placed on us as members of the league, including fielding competitive teams (there are 86 individual spaces in the team and we have averaged 3 competing Athletes in 2016), appointing Male and Female Team Managers to communicate with all Club Groups and organise the team, provide at least seven Officials for every match and have the means to host and organise a match at least every other year.
It is our intention to establish a working group during 2017 to firstly look into the demand for team-based track and field competition for our Senior Athletes from the Club, look into increasing training opportunities and beginner sessions for seniors to try track or field events they may not have tried before, and ultimately to establish a plan that we hope will lead to the Club rejoining the League in a stronger position for the 2018 season.

Athletes who would have considered this league have many other opportunities to compete for the Club in the Cheshire T&F League or the many Open and Championship events available.
