Saturday, 11th February is the last race in the Manchester Area Cross Country League and it's being held at our home ground at Woodbank, so, let's make a big effort and have lots of Stockport vests out there competing.
If you can't compete, come and support your fellow athletes. Make a day of it, bring the family; lots of hot drinks and snacks at our lovely new clubhouse.
The finish of the last senior men's race at Kenworthy Woods was as exciting a race as you'll ever see at any athletics meet. Stockport's Jack Morris, who has won every race in the series so far, had a battle with Chris Farrell of Horwich.
They both stormed down to the finish line, neck and neck, but Jack managed to win the race by a hair's breadth, although both athletes were given the same time. Expect another exciting race again on Saturday as Jack attempts to finish the series by winning all five races.
We had some great results by the females at Kenworthy Woods. Jasmine Reed won the U11, Lesley Sinclair was 2nd FV50, Hilary West was 4th LV55 and Helen Todd was 2nd LV60.
Look forward to seeing a great turn out of Stockport Harriers this Saturday at this final cross country race of the season.
