Message from our Welfare Officer

Report: Maureen Wilkins -

Stockport Harriers is an inclusive club for all abilities ensuring all our youngsters are safe and having fun. It is good practice that we continue to build on solid foundations.

As a club welfare officers it is important for you and us to encourage a safer club through all aspects of its activities. During the darker seasons, we want to ensure all our young athletes are safe and continuing to have fun. Parent and carers have a duty of care to ensure their children are safe when meeting up for organised training.

It is important for you and us from the outset that individual athletes require to clarify with lead trainer (and where appropriate, with parents or carers) exactly what it is that is expected of them and what athletes are entitled to expect from us).

We want to continue adopting the wefare, safeguarding and protection of young people within our club ensuring our young members continue to keep safe and enjoy the club training especially during the winter months. It is therefore of the upmost importance that each member aged under 18 to be dropped off and collected after training it also important that all young people where appropriate high visibility clothing when training off the track.
