Monday Evening Training Group - Summer 2022

Monday Evening Sessions – Jan 25 to July 25

 

The Monday Evening Senior Endurance Group meets at 6.50pm every Monday of the year except for Bank Holidays. The sessions are led by Steve Shaughnessy EA Level 2 Coach, Rob McMurdo EA Level 2 Coach and Phil Carpenter EA Level 1 Run Leader. From mid-Sept to mid-April, most sessions are on the Track, apart from some hill sessions. From mid-April to mid-Sept, most sessions are in Woodbank Park. The Coach for each session is shown in parentheses. Occasionally, a planned session may be changed at short notice because of weather conditions.

 

If you can run a 5k between 17 and 23 minutes, you will fit right in. Session fees are £3.50 members/£5 non-members for all sessions, unless you have a track pass or Stockport Leisure Key. The fees are subject to change from 1 April. Fees are payable on the night into the Honesty Box, at the corner of the clubhouse. No pre-booking is required.

17 Mar – 25 laps slow/fast (Steve)

24 Mar – 5 x 1000m (plus 200m jog recovery) (Rob)

31 Mar – 5 x 1200m (Phil)

7 April – 4 x 1 mile on the track at GMP (for Manchester Marathon on 14 April) (Steve)

14 April – Hill Session – Cow Lane (Steve)

21 April – Bank Holiday

5 May – Bank Holiday – no session

12 May – 3000m, 2000m, 1000m. (Note: Offerton 5 Multi-terrain Race is on Wed 14/5 ay 7pm) (Rob)

19 May – Distance Pyramids in the Park 100/200/300/400/500m (Phil)

26 May – Bank Holiday – no session 

2  June  - Hill Session – 2 reps on Cow Lane followed by one rep in Vernon Park (Steve)

9 June – 2 x 1000m, 2 x 800m, 2 x 600m, 2 x 400m on the track (Steve)

16 June – 6 x 1000m plus 200m recovery on grass in Lower Park (1k recce plus 5 reps) (Steve)

23 June – Reverse Triangle Session in the Park (Rob)

30 June – 3 x 2000m in the Park (Steve)

7 July – Hill Session – NZ Road Lamppost Shuttles (Phil)

14 July – 6 x 800m in the Park plus 200m jog recovery (Steve)
