Stockport Harriers’ track international Elle Baker who has been training hard over the Christmas period with the Lloyds TSB Endurance Squad was back in winning form at the Sale Festive 5 mile road race on Sunday December 28th setting a new course and club record in the process with 27.24 finishing ahead of Sale Harriers’ Donna Riding.
The Harrier veterans notched up wins across all the age categories led home by long serving club member and first Vet 40 Bashir Hussain in 25.58 in a very creditable position in the open race in 14th overall position.
Malcom Johnson followed Bashir coming home in 18th in 26.31 with Elle Baker next in 25th with 27.24 and Mike Shaw 34th in 28.18.
Alan Pover was 64th and first Vet 60 in 30.27 followed home by 1st Vet 45 lady Sarah Aymler 103rd in 33.44 Alexis Dinsmoor 1st Vet 55 lady and 152nd and 1st Vet 70 Chris Bryans 174th in 39.40 showing that age is no barrier.
