
Olivia Wild came home 65th in the English Schools’ Championships helping the Greater Manchester team to finish 5th
The last cross country race of the season took place at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire for the young athletes of Stockport Harriers, the English Schools Cross Country one of the biggest events in the running calender where a number of the Harriers were selected to represent the Greater Manchester Schools’ team.
In the Junior Girls’ race the Harriers’ Olivia Wild and Imogen Nutter both who have had an outstanding season with selection for the Inter Counties at Nottingham two weeks ago showed that they can run with the best of English athletes, in a field of 335 Olivia came 65th second counter for the Greater Manchester team and Imogen 111th to to bring the team home into 5th place out of 44 teams, just missing out on the medals.
Best run of the day came from Richard Hindley coming in 10th place helping the Greater Manchester team to take the gold medal in the Junior Boys’.
The Inter Boys’ race saw Jack Morris take 70th place and in the Senior Girls’ Luci McLoughlin came in 78th place just behind Bryony Pearce took 80th place.
