The Club’s Junior Girls section again were on their travels on Saturday taking to the road over to Grave Park in Sheffield for the first Northern Cross Country Relays covering all age groups from under-11s to senior teams.
The day started well with the Under-11 Girls teams showing great team spirit with an excellent win over their Yorkshire rivals. In this race was both girls and boys teams together and even the boys could not stay with the girls team which had a 40 second lead at the end and also had the top four fastest time of the day in their age group.
In the next race the Under-13 Girls team showed that they are improving week by week by taking the silver medal behind winners Warrington AC with all the team on the country for the first time this year.
Stockport’s senior men were a close second to Leeds City AC
The last race of the day saw the Senior Men having a great team race with being in the first two places all the way and just missing out to Leeds City AC by 15 seconds to take the silver medal with Steve Vernon running the overall fastest leg of the day.
