Ross in record breaking form again

Report: Dave Turnbull -

Ross Millington was in record breaking form again this time in Seattle, Washington on Saturday night at the Husky Indoor Classic Invitation 3,000 metres.

In the biggest race of the night that included the fastest collegiate racers in the US including professionals Olympian Alan Webb of Nike Track Team and Sammy Chelanga plus a host of other top athletes.

The race did not disappoint as a total of 18 athletes went under the 8 minute mark which was the greatest number of athletes ever in USA collegiate history in one race.

Ross again made club history with a record breaking run of 7.54.08 to be the first Harrier to break 8 minutes which also puts Ross in a great position for the US National Collegiate Athletic Association championships as he has the qualifying time for both events and is ranked 16th in the US Collegiate rankings over both 1,500 metres and 3km.

Ross is also ranked number 2 in the UK behind Mo Farah at 3km and also has the qualifying time for the European indoors at 1,500 and 3km.

Elsewhere Alex O Gorman finished 7th in the Armagh cross race representing team Puma on Sunday and will line up at the National this Saturday alongside team mate Steve Vernon in the biggest domestic endurance race of the season.
