New club record for Ross

Report: Dave Turnbull -

The USA track season got underway on Saturday and Harriers’ USA based athlete Ross Millington who has been setting numerous club records since being based at the New Mexico University, Abuquerque raced his first 1,500 metres of the season at a wet windswept Tempe Arizona in the Sun Angel Classic track meet.

The first 3 laps of the race were run in a cautionary 3 minutes due to the blustery conditions making the last 300 metres a burn up.

However Ross still scorched to another new club record breaking his previous best of 3-44 to 3-42.9 and taking some notable scalps in the process in his first outing of the season.

Ross was only narrowly beaten in the race for the tape by Airforces Justin Tyler who had placed third at the recent NCAA indoor mile championships just edging out Ross in 3-42.6.in the race to the tape.

Ross will contest 5,000 metres at the prestigious Mount Sac Relays in Walnut California next weekend.
