Ross Millington lowered his own club 5,000 metre record by a sizable amount at the Mount Sac track and field meeting in California where elite athletes from around the world converge to test out early season form.
Ross raced in the Mens 5,000 metre Invite Elite race and was able to slice 17 seconds from his previous best to 13-44.
Not bad on a night when conditions were far from perfect for record attempts however 24 athletes broke the magical 14 minute barrier including Ross who finished 14th in the race.
That makes it a first for the Club again as the first ever Stockport Harrier athlete to achieve that feat.
Ross is now the No. 1 UK under-23 athlete at 5km, 1,500 metres and the mile.
