A small contingent of Harriers competed at the Senior Men’s and Women’s Northern Track & Field Championships at Sportcity, Manchester on Saturday.
Pride of place went to Elle Baker who dropped down in distance at 1,500 metres for the first time since 2005.
Elle took her first North of England 1,500 metre title with a last lap kick at the bell of 65 seconds to secure the win in 4-25 from Jo Adams of Yorkshire in 4-28 and Jenna Hill of Sale Harriers Manchester.
Sprinter Rory Evans took on the longer distance of 400 metres to dip under 50 seconds in his heat in 49.51 finishing 3rd.
Jamie Loxam made the trip over from Welshpool to finish 17th in the men’s 5,000 metres in 15-43 with James Scott-Buccleuch on 15-49.
This weekend Ross Millington fresh from his excellent season in the USA will be trying to secure his place in the Great Britain squad for the European Under-23 Championships in the 5,000 metres European trial at the UKA Championships at Bedford.
