Young Athlete National Road Relays

The Club’s junior girls section again where on their travels as they went to the English National Young Athlete Road Relays at Sutton Park, Birmingham where they were flying the flag for Stockport Harriers with great performances alround over a very hard 3.8km course.

The first race of the day saw the under-13 girls put out three teams with the A-team having a great race to take 7 place out of 50 teams from all over the country. On the first leg Lucy Donaghy ran the fourth fastest time of the day in 14-28 to bring the team in 2nd place then Karley Jarrett kept the team in touch with 16-16 in 8th place, on the last leg Katy Whiteoak again had a good race with 14-54 to bring the team in 7th place.

The other teams also showed that Club has a great team sprit with the B-team taking 29th place with Britney Sharples 17-17, then Emma Donaghy 16-49 and Eliza Brackenridge Jones having a great run in 15-56. The C-team took 45th place with Francesca Carosi in 17-14, Emily Hughes 19-35 and Jasmine Hannon in 17-21.

In the under-15 girls the A-team took 26th place with Mollie Williams in 14-50, Sophie William 16-23 and Leah O'Connell in 16-37 and in the B-team Alice Hughes had a great run in 16-10.

Not to be out done the under-17 girls put 2 teams out and in a very strong race the A-team took 18th place with Olivia Wild on the first leg in 15-13 then Nicola Berry with 15-56 and to bring the team home Rosa Chrystie Lowe in 15-38 followed by the B-team in 25th place with Aimee Aikin 16-20, Sarah Tipping 17-02 and Imogen Nutter in 15-15.
