‘Town of Runners’ screening

Report: Jane O'Hara -

‘Town of Runners’ is highly acclaimed feature length documentary film about a remarkable running coach at an athletic club in an impoverished Ethiopian village. With virtually no facilities he has trained an incredible series of brilliant runners resulting in several Olympic Gold Medals. All athletes are trained at the same tiny village club by the same man. This is truly remarkable story and a very topical theme with the Olympics coming up.

The film will be shown at The Black Lion in central Manchester and tickets cost £5.00. All proceeds from this pop-up film screening will go directly to Retrak, a Manchester based children’s charity who work with street children in Ethiopia.

An official Olympic torch bearer will also be bringing her torch to the Saturday screening.
