Cheshire League

Report: Andy Mihranian -

A small team of highly committed and enthusiastic athletes made their way across to Connah's Quay, for the 4th and last round of the Cheshire League Track & Field meetings. A really worthwhile end of season event, where numerous personal bests were achieved.

Grace Bower achieved an excellent clean sweep of personal bests in all three of the events she competed in; 200m sprint  29.6s, High Jump 1.35m, Shot Putt 6.62m.

The Under-11 Boys all got bests in the 75m sprint; Joseph Philbin 11.6, Toby Higson-Guy 12.0, Dominic Crossland 12.0 and Harry Miller-Reedman 12.5.

Justin Higson-Guy took the place of his brother in the 4x100m relay and the Boys brought the baton home in 2nd place in 66.1sec.

There were also bests in the 600m Under-11 Boys from Toby Higson-Guy 1-55.7 and Dominic Crossland 2-04.6.

The bests kept coming with Joseph Philbin in the Long Jump 3.47m and Harry Miller-Reedman in the Soft Javelin 14.82m.

Well done to all the athletes for their commitment to compete for the Club and can I say a special thanks to Grace for demonstrating such good team and leadership qualities and to the parents - Mark, Terry & Gareth for judging the Long Jump events all afternoon.

Without such volunteer commitment these events would not take place.
