We've got off to a flyer with our Men's team winning the 1st match by a margin of 21 points to Menai who finished in second place. The Women's team came second, 56 points behind Trafford and our Under-11 team also finished in second just 8 points behind Bury AC. All three are excellent results and well done to everyone who contributed valuable points towards our totals, especially those who were competing for the club for the first time. We hope you enjoyed the experience and will continue to compete for the club in future Track & Field events.
Congratulations to those who not only managed to get points for the club, but were able to achieve SBs or PBs on the day in their events. There were a fair number of them. I'd also like to mention the great attitude shown by those who did an event, that they hadn't previously trained for, just to get points for the team. Every point counted towards the results we achieved.
Finally, thank you to all the club officials and volunteers who officiated and judged the different event. In conditions that were not particularly pleasant, they did a fabulous job. Please volunteer your help for the next one as, without you, such events could not exist.
The next Round is on Sunday 19th May at Trafford AC - Longford Park Athletics Stadium. Start time: 12pm.
I do hope we can maintain this superb start by pulling together strong teams for the next 3 rounds.
