There were plenty of medals heading back to Stockport after some very promising results and plent of personal best performances at the well-supported early-season Trafford AC Young Athletes Medal Meeting at Longford Park on Sunday 30th March.
Anna Mounteney (Coach: Cliff Oldham) was Stockport’s star performer, completing a sprint double to take the Under-13 Girls 75m and 150m Gold medals with personal best performances of 10.6 and 21.1 respectively. In the same age group Megan Lasseter (Catherine Muirhead) produced two personal bests to take the Silver medal in the Long Jump with 4.11m and Bronze in the 70m Hurdles in a time of 14 seconds flat. Evie Wild (Andrew Owen) also took a medal with silver and a personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:36.5 while Jacob Wood-Doyle (Michael Doyle) took the third Gold medal of the afternoon with a run of 2:33.1 seconds. There were two medals in the Under-11 events too, with a pair of silvers for Jack Doodson (David Jackson) thanks to a 12.0 second personal best in the 75m and a huge personal best of 3.41m in the Long Jump.
Outside of the medal positions there were plenty of promising performances, including a number from Athletes competing on the track for the first time.
