The two Jacks of Stockport Harriers substantially dominated the middle distance events at the UCLAN stadium, Preston in the final Northern senior track and field league match.
In the middle distance events, the pair of them reached perfect "A" event scoring with Jack Morris first in the 800 metres, 3000 metre steeplechase and the arduous 5000 metre flat race to finish with.
Colleague Jack Nixon showed his mettle in the 1500 metres winning the event in a fine time of 4:13.9. and there was able support in many of the "B" events especially from Jon-Paul Kearns, Adrian Nutter and recently converted to middle distance from sprinting, long time Stockport Harriers' member Graham Marsland.
In the men's sprints, Danny Savin did the treble in the 100 metres (1st), 200 metres (2nd) and the triple jump (1st) to enhance the team score sheet.
The ladies section contributed greatly to the cause with Elle Vernon runaway winner in the 1500 metre event, Maureen Wilkins took the gold in the 3000 metres "A" race with Jenny Knass completing the double in the respective "B" event.
At the shorter distances, good solid sprinting also produced creditable results with Laura Pegler and Alisa Brackenridge Jones adding to the team points tally.
The net result saw Team Stockport finish 2nd in the league behind Wigan A.C. who are now both promoted to face new opposition in 2015 in division 3 of the Northern of England track and field league.
The 4th Sale Sizzler 5km road race at Wythenshawe Park saw sparks fly with Sale's Gareth Raven winning the event in 14:47 but less than a minute behind were Stockport's first man Mike Sawrey (15:37) and just 6 seconds behind him was Stockport International Jessica Coulson who took the first lady's spot (15:43) and opened a substantial gap on 2nd placed Julie Hamilton representing Swinton who finished in 17:36.
