Stockport senior men’s won the England National Cross Country Relays at Berryhill Park Mansfield on Saturday.
The four man relay over 5km per leg got of to a fast start with Alex O’Gorman staying in touch with the leaders and 6th fastest overall leg of the day with a blistering 15.00, second leg runner Jack Morris took the lead for the team in 15.42 ahead of Morpeth harriers by 10 seconds.
Patrick Martin extended the lead by over 20 seconds leaving his brother Jack on the glory leg to win by over 24 seconds from Morpeth in 2nd and Highgate Harriers in third.
The senior women’s team finished 6th with Elle Vernon on first leg and 5 th fastest of the day in 9.39 with solid running by newcomer Kelly Crickmore holding on to 5th in 10.55 with fast finishing Louise Rudd finishing on 10.30 for 6th place.
